Pakistan has been
experiencing severe monsoon weather since June 2022, leading in major floods
and landslides around the country. The impact has been tremendous, affecting
over 33 million people and causing considerable property and infrastructure
damage.
In
response to this tragedy, the BHATTI Society organized an emergency flood
response operation, assisting 0.1 million flood victims. With the wonderful
assistance of donors and volunteers, the organization gave USD 0.17 million in
cash and 8,700 mt of food to individuals in need.
The
society's activities were geared around providing urgent help, such as food
baskets including rice, lentils, sugar, cooking oil, and hygiene supplies.
Furthermore, health initiatives and medical aid were offered to guarantee the
well-being of impacted populations.
Looking ahead, the BHATTI Society is dedicated to assisting flood-affected people in Punjab and elsewhere. By adopting targeted interventions and enhancing resilience-building programs, the organization hopes to reduce the effect of future catastrophes and support long-term recovery.
Project Completion: The project was completed with the assistance of local communities and partners in Rahimyar Khan City, Khanpur City, Ahmad Pur City, and Bahawalpur City in Punjab.
